Just by their heirloom caprese salad, I can say that the food is amazing! Me and my husband are spending our honeymoon in Key West, from NYC, and even in NYC I haven't had a caprese salad that tastes this good in a couple years, really good ones, but not like this. The service is just as good! Definitely a place to go when visiting Key West. And because I'm vegetarian, I love that they have a few options to please this kinda public. I'm very satisfied!

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Waldorf Astoria Resort as the best Italian food on key west. If that's the case then this island has pathetic Italian food. The waiters were condescending, rude and impatient. The food was basic at best. For someone coming from NYC with amazing restaurants and service this place was a dud. No vegetarian options and the atmosphere was stiff. Save your money and go elsewhere!

One of the best restaurants in key west. Highly recommended for a nice dinner. Great service and hospitality by Lisa

Sublime experience. Lasagna Bolognese was the best I've ever had and I've been to Rome and Bolgna Italia. Great wine list, impeccable service, dessert homemade. I can't recommend this place enough. We celebrated our 25th anniversary and they were very thankful and accommodating. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

We stopped in right after they opened for the day. Beautiful dining room. Outstanding 2 for 1 Bloody Mary's. Great coffee. We had Mascarpone French Toast w berries and Shiitake mushroom Frittate. Crazy good. Excellent food and service from our new friend Brad. Thanks Brad. Best food we've had on this trip.

Great location right on Duval St. Small quaint Italian restaurant with a great selection of Italian homemade pastas. It's always a gamble when you order gnocchi but these were very good with a great bolognese sauce . Attentive service made it even more memorable.

Amazing food, fantastic service, and a great ambiance. This is a MUST for your next Key West visit! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our dinner so much that we came back the next night! The wine list is great, and our seafood pasta dishes were AMAZING. We will be back again soon!

Best. Lasagna. Ever. Hubby and I were searching for a great, romantic restaurant that was NOT seafood and steak. Antonia's fit the bill perfectly! Service was excellent and food was beyond my expectations.

I don't often write reviews, complain to management, etc., but we had such a terrible experience with Antonia's, both during our service there, and after when following-up with management, that I had to articulate to others what happened. Buyer beware, I would guess. Three of us were in town for the Key West Half Marathon and decided to have dinner at Antonia's the night before the race. We were able to get seated quickly, which was great, as it was earlier in the evening. After that, we ordered our appetizer and prepared to enjoy the mail. After some time of my glass sitting empty of water, we requested that and some break from a busboy, as our server wasn't paying us attention (had to flag him down to order the appetizer). I asked for an additional glass, so he wouldn't have to come as often to fill it up, as I was hydrating for the race. We then ordered our entrees, waited forty or so minute for them, and were disappointed when one of the entrees came out incorrectly. We sent that back and got the new one much more quickly. I had the stuffed chicken, which, being bone in, should have been rather juicy and tender, but it was incredibly dry. Since we'd already sent one entree back and had waited significant time for the first iteration, I ended up choking down about 1/2 of my breast before giving up. In addition, my side of pasta was incredibly bland. To end the meal, we ordered coffee and a to go dessert. The dessert was brought without to-go utensils. I requested them from our server, Rock, who informed me "no", I was under the assumption he was joking, but when he did not return with them, I inquired again. He stated he would go get them. When he returned once more without them and presented our check, I asked a third time. His response was that I should go to the Mexican restaurant next door or another one down the street to get some. We were astounded at his rudeness. With that, I left a voicemail for management upon my return home. A day later they returned my call, cut me off at multiple times during the explanation (though I requested he hear me out and then respond at the end instead of cutting me off) to provide excuses (it was a busy night, Rock had had the flu and must have been off his game, that they don't bring bread until after the entree has been ordered, asked if I had alerted anyone to the problem with the incorrect entree, etc.) and finally apologized. I mentioned that it was frustrating that he was only offering excuses and not taking ownership of the issue. He said "I told you I was sorry, what more do you want" and started raising his voice at me. I attempted, again, to articulate that what he'd told me was that they were unprepared, had a sick server, etc., and he cut me off again and raised his voice at me. I finally terminated the call, as I knew I was getting nowhere with him. I wanted nothing but to make him aware of the situation and for him to acknowledge there was an issue and that he would work to resolve it, as any decent leader would. Instead, I was blamed, provided excuses, and confronted. I will be putting this out there anywhere anyone will listen. I will also ensure that when I hear of folks going to Key West, that I recommend they do not visit Antonia's. It's a small thing that won't make a difference, but I'd hate from anyone else to go through this, and to pay hundreds of dollars to do so.

We ducked in for dinner one night while in Key West. While the reviews were generally positive, we didn't much enjoy our experience. The service was poor, above all. i'm not sure who our sever was, but she was in a dress and not dressed like the other servers. She may have been a manager or greeter. We sat down and waited at least 20 minutes before being greeted. We got a little bread, which was nice, but it was very slow service due to the attention given to a large table on one side, and a couple on the other side who had wine flights and food. We seemed to be the last priority. We ordered, and while my pasta was very good, my partner's seafood pasta had a lot to be desired. For instance, his scallops were overcooked to the point they were chewy. While we would have normally sent this back, we had a show to see later. I'd give this a miss. While it wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't worth the $90.00 for two pasta entrees and two glasses of wine.

Went looking for Italian food in Key West and this was a very highly rated option for my birthday dinner. Made a reservation (a wise choice since it's a small-ish place right on Duval) and went in a few hours later. Maybe one of the best Italian meals I've ever had. I got a glass of prosecco, and we shared the caprese salad. My meal was the gorgonzola sauce gnocchi but it will always be known as "cheese pillows" to me. It was fantastic. I've never had gnocchi so soft and perfect, and the sauce was just phenomenal. So thick. So cheesy. So rich. The absolute perfect birthday indulgence. Our server was Antonio, and he was very attentive and polite. Just a lovey dining experience.

Excellent restaurant! Food was impeccable. We had the goat cheese soufflé and the house made gnocchi. Both really special. For desert, tiramisu - it was the best one I had In my life!

Three of us went there for lunch, what a pleasant surprise, a very nice quiet, wood paneled place. The great thing was that they actually included some "brunch" dishes with the lunch menu. so if you don't want your eggs Benedict first thing in the morning you can get an elegant one there for lunch not on English muffin but on Chibata . The lunch salad was also very nice and beautifully presented. We made reservations for dinner for five of us and no one was disappointed, the soup, pasta, steak, 2 different kind of fish dishes and the lamb chops were all excellent. And being the kind of diner who wants to know what the desert is before I commit to an entree I was not disappointed. The deserts are excellent.

This was our favorite Key west restaurant. The homemade pasta was delicious as was the key lime pie. Waitress was A+. I wish the place was closer so I could eat there this weekend!

Excellent service and great food. The portions are huge - especially the lasagna and the gnocchi. Our waiter was amazing and our glasses never emptied.

We always visit Antonia's when we're in Key West. The room is dark and quiet, service is nicely polished, and I've never been served anything I didn't like. As others have mentioned, Antonia's food and service come with a few dollar signs attached. Read the menu that is posted outside and see if it fits your budget before you go in, then you won't have to whine about the prices on Yelp.

Italian food in Key West... perhaps you wouldn't think so but you'd be quite wrong. Putting aside pizza joints, there are a few but are they worth the visit? A couple places are decent but inconsistent or just not that good; perhaps concentrating too much on attracting tourist business instead of concentrating on serving quality italian fare. Not the case when discussing Antonia's. Over the years they have managed to always keep an excellent reputation of high standards of their food, great personalities behind the bar, comfortable atmosphere, great wine list (including a variety of ports and cognacs) and a service staff that have been here for years. And not an easy feat considering they have change ownership/management at least 3 times in the past decade but luckily everyone has been on board to keep things unchanged. There was a period years ago of inconsistency (not bad food but arrived with different seasoning each visit), but those days are a thing of the past. And the latest owner is a class act (respectful with an edgy sense of humor) serving up some amazing italian cuisine. You're not going to find your common chicken parmesan, veal marsala or piccata dishes on the regular menu here; you will find truly authentic, well prepared and flavorful regional dishes. The pastas are fresh made everyday and there is one everyone should be aware of because it's a life changer.... Fettuccine al Profumo di Tartufo... but you can just ask for Tartufo. And of course since this is Key West, you will always find locally caught fish and shrimp on the menu and on the daily specials; and the daily specials are quite a extensive list with appetizers, salads, entrees and sometimes desserts too. In addition to that great food, serviced by some of the best waiters, they also have some wonderful desserts that never fail. Fruit sorbets are a winner here, but it's the Tiramisu that is top notch and highly recommended. Sometimes I stop by after dinner just for the Tiramisu (and an after dinner drink). And if you aren't up for a whole dessert, no worries because fresh, delicious cookies are always brought out gratis. Antonia's isn't cheap but then again this isn't your flip flops and tank top stop either. The high price is rewarded with a great dining experience and well worth the visit.

Come on people this is not good Italian food. The food was very pedestrian like Ragu out of the jar and Ronzoni out of the box. A total disappointment. My snapper was oily and not fresh, the zupata pesh was fishy, the mozzarella was dry, the procuitto was old and so on and so on. Oh and by the way the prices are ridiculous for what you're being served. La Trattoria is way better.

Antonia's was our number one pick on the island during our stay. Not sure if it was because it was the first place we ate after our long drive or due to the al dente homemade pasta covered with the delicious mushroom sauce on the fettacinni totuffo. Incredible dish. The bread to die for. The clams vongole were terrific as well. The waiter was very friendly helpful and when asked about other locales to eat came up with the list of his favorites. Thank you for the memorable meal. Steve and Ellen

Amazing Italian place!! Started out with calamari and the sauce was outstanding. My entree was homemade pasta with clams and again the sauce was perfection!!! Definitely a place to come and enjoy an Italian dinner!! Service was ok in the beginning but towards the end he was more attentive.

I am always leery of restaurants on Duval St due to its touristy nature. Antonia's was an exception. Walking through the door brings one from the hustle of Duval St into a warm, quiet dining room with just the right amount if light and noise. The wait staff was very friendly. We started with antipasto and beef carpaccio for the table. Very good on both accounts. Pickled vegetables on the antipasto were great. The main courses consisted of good homemade pastas with not too heavy, complementary sauces. The Shrimp with tomato sauce was excellent, a little spice to the sauce, but not too much. The sautéed yellowtail was cooked perfectly and seasoned well so as not to overpower the dish. The only thing I would change with the meal: my lasagne had too much melted cheese on top. Some bites had the lasagne and meat sauce lost in the sea of melted cheese. Overall a very nice meal that all six if us enjoyed.

Underwhelming from start to finish. Ridiculously overpriced, with hideous decor (including a leftover from Christmas - a Santa swinging down a rope, that looked distinctly reminiscent of a fat drag pole dancer). When it came to wines...how is it possible to choose a wine that is not corked yet which is completely undrinkable???? Service was ABYSMAL!! Notwithstanding the fact that we were on a date, THREE different servers came around to ask whether we were finished FOUR times... why not just sit down with us? As for the food, the appetizers were nothing to write home about, and in the entrees, the duck ravioli was nice, but the veal medallions were disappointing, and the semifreddo was completely unrecognizable - a dismal excuse for a coconut cake.

Ambiance pleasantly sedate, we had an entertaining waiter. The escargots were tasty with a lemon tang although salty, the filet minion was excellent, the grouper somewhat overlooked, veggies good, the wine ordinary. $114 for two, without dessert or tip.

This is a must go to place if you love Italian food and don't mind spending a little bit of money! This place from the outside and inside you know it's not your typical restaurant in key west. The food was outstanding everything right on point! The service was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back to key west... Definitely going to stop at Antonia's restaurant again!

We tried for lunch and had a good time in the nicely air conditioned interior. It doesn't seem to say on their website, but the hours on the door for lunch said 11:30-2. The menu (pics posted) was also slightly different than the lunch menu on the website, but not in a bad way. I got the linguine with marinara (not shown online) and enjoyed its fresh taste. The entree came with a soup or salad, and I got the salad. It was nothing fancy, simple greens with a vinaigrette, but the dressing was really good. There were also yummy garlic flat bread/cracker thingies that went well with the meal. Our server was nice, too. She came by when needed but didn't linger. Overall, for a touristy town and a Duval address, this place is a good value and worth going too.

Food was okay. Menu not very exciting. Need a bartender who knows how to mix drinks. A strong drink is not a well mixed concoction. So I switched to wine. It was sour. Been open too long. The establishment needs to come up with some inspiration on food and service, especially for the prices they charge.

One of the best Italian meals I think I've ever had. Started with the caprese for an appetizer - the mozzarella was so rich & creamy I could've gone for seconds. For the entrees I ordered the linguini with shrimp in a fire roasted sauce & my boyfriend had the prosciutto stuffed chicken breast : both to die. Dessert - is a must no matter how stuffed you are- we got the tiramisu: hands down the best I have ever had. EVER. Ill come back to key west just to have this again. Our server Molly was friendly & attentive & helped make some amazing food choices. All in all an amazing dining experience

Friendly greeting and prompt service were just the beginning. The experience was great from start to finish. We split the asparagus al forno antipasti with both white and green asparagus. Good start. Entrees were fettuccini e funghi and linguine con cognoles. Both delicious. Wine-by-the-glass offerings were ample. A most delightful dining experience!

We decided to dine at Antonia's on the final night of our week in Key West. Good choice! It is definitely a touch of class amid the noise that is Duval street. The service was top rate. Our server was knowledgeable and offered lot's of good advice on the menu. I tried the "Linguine ai Gamberi"-- homemade linguine, Key West Shrimp, fresh tomato, olive oil, garlic and red pepper. The homemade linguine was perfectly cooked and tasty. The plate included at least a dozen medium sized shrimp. Way more than I expected. My wife had "Gnocchi del Giorno"-- homemade potato gnocchi with pesto. I'll admit that I am not a gnocchi fan. I just can't get over the consistency. My wife, however, loved it. I found the pasta on par with Manga's but the atmosphere was much more upscale. The only negative thing I have to say is that there was a very noisy group at the bar and their voices carried throughout the restaurant. All in all, this was a great end to our trip.

Excellent! Just went there tonight. Carpaccio was amazing! Lobster linguini was also good!

  • Bryan S.

Great wait staff, nice atmosphere, mediocre food. My wife and I have eaten here in the past and it was wonderful. Apparently they changed owners recently. I had the gnocchi and my wife had the grouper. Both awful. The gnocchi tasted like mashed potatoes (not potato pasta like it should) and her grouper was over cooked. Such a shame for a once great restaurant.

  • Ferreira J.

The daily pasta was very good indeed, but that was where it all ended! To call Antonia's a good restaurant would do them a great disservice. Antonia's is mediocre in day day when the chef and the cooks are at their best. The salad and the mushroom soup were pedestrian, and Campbell has made a better mushroom soup in Camden, NJ 30 years ago. The lamb ossobuco and the chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and cheese resembled nothing of was intended by the chef. Only only word describes their dishes: mediocre! Not worth 1/2 of what we paid for the meal. I highly recommend the following action: avoid it!

    (1)
  • Celeste R.

I would love to give this a higher rating because everything was wonderful - the servers, the bar, the manager - I just didn't feel the food was above average. The "diver scallops" were small and there were only four. And serving them with mashed potatoes is just strange! The seafood in the zuppa di pesce was decent, but the "broth" was like a tonato sauce. Dessert was good. They have a summertime $10 pasta special on certain summer nights that I would go for next time. Yes, I will return!

  • Dan B.

Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Wife had the lasagna which was very good and rich. I had the rack of lamb which was cooked as ordered, well trimmed and tasty; the accompanying potato wedges and green beans were bland. Decent wine selection. We will definitely be back

Italian is one thing there is not really a lot of in Key West. So Antonia's fills that urge if you have it. However, I don't think it is better than Mangia Mangia. The bartender and hostess was very nice as we waited on a table. Our table service was I guess what you would call "sufficient". Food came out on-time, ordered properly, not much personality, and that's it. For Key West italian...the food is good. For italian anywhere else, this place would be in a strip-mall barely hanging on. The prices are ridiculous in my opinion. This town has some rock-star chefs that will feed you a lot cheaper and wow you.

  • Oriana P.

The lasagna would get 7 stars if I could give them. Get it to share as it is definitely hefty... unless like all the others you don't mind enjoying it for lunch the next day. got a charcutterie board, which came with cold cuts and cheeses...ok.. ONE slice of cheese, and i'm sorry but i don't like to be served cheese-rind (trust me it was rind), AND it was sweaty. The waiter felt like he should be telling the kitchen... but what would that do for ME? pretty much - NIENTE!!! Antonia would be appalled!! i was also unfortunate enough to be there on the few freezing cold days that Key West has seen in centuries (ok.. i might be exaggerating but it def was below 5degrees Celcious) and the diners (as I looked around me) had their coats and scarves on, as the air conditioner and the ceiling fans were blasting at full speed. per our waiter's words, the owner/manager refuses to lower the volume (music) and the air-con. Clearly Antonia was not the one serving as she would be whoopping these schmucks' buttocks for getting on a powertrip while losing massive tips and not delivering service... or food. I am just hoping my experience was a one-off and antonia keeps enjoying the masses. However.. it will be HARD for me to return, as the price, nor the ambiance was not worth the sweaty cheese!! Mi s'piace Antonia...

What, a wonderful surprise this place was! We were sent here by some friends that live on the Island. They were busy getting wasted, but we needed food desperately. We were expecting checkered table clothes, and meatball subs. WRONG. This place is nicely lit, the decor was nice, and it wasnt noisy like we were thinking. They have a great menu with wonderful antipastos, carpaccios, pastas, wines, cheeses, and meats. We splurged a little here, but it was worth every penny. The service was great, the food was great, the wine was great.

The best restaurant on Duval and consistently one of the best in Key West. Kid friendly, nice waiters, good wine list.

  • Lara O.

This is an Americanized Italian restaurant, not authentic Italian, as they claim. For any of you that have experienced true Italian cuisine in Italy, this place will be sure to disappoint you. To be fair, some of the "appetizers of the day", like the asparagus gratin and the clams in white wine sauce were quite decent, though very salty. But, how difficult is it to pull off a good asparagus gratin and clams in white wine sauce? Not very difficult. The giveaway were the squishy bread, the flavorless olive oil, unsophisticated and non-al-dente pasta dish, the mixed salad's bland dressing, and the bad cappuccino. At that point it was clear this was not true Italy. If you are happy paying $$$$ for Americanized Italian food, than this is the place for you. But, if you were hoping for the authentic Italian taste, skip this place.

Magnifico!!! Multo BENE!!! Fresh pasta - they will make half portions - the ragu sauce is to die for. Wine list -extensive and well suited to the Italian cuisine. Fresh fish dishes always good, Gnocchi is just crazy good. Wonderful flat salt bread to start. Owner and staff so on point and FUN! We loved the jazz mix that was playing and it turns out our waiter was the musicologist - I love that the owner is laid back enough to allow that. Food have NEVER disappointed - warm classy atmosphere - but no stodgy attitude. ENJOY!

Every year we have dinner with our friends at Antonios. The mushroom pasta is amazing; I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. The place is a little old fashioned and dark, but you can count on excellent break, good food, and attentive service.

OMGSOGOOD. Ok, I had reservations about this spot but only because I read reviews on tripadvisor and the people were all like, "oh wow, so snooty, the waiter was a jerk" etc. But I was desperately in search of Italian food and with my other options being Mangia Mangia (gag) and Abbondanza, I decided to try here. I got the special of Frutti di Mare (I think I spelled this right... 2 years of Italian and I still suck) with linguine and my husband got the lamb shank. The pasta was amazing and the lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. Don't go expecting to have a cheap dinner-- this place is very pricey, but it's worth it.

Not good-----We were a party of 8. 6 of us ordered the seafood pasta with Maine lobster, Shrimp Scallops and Mussels. The Lobster, and Shrimp were grossly over cooked and very tough and chewy. The sauce was not very complimentary to the recipe. For the higher end pricing this was a very disappointing meal. There are at least three other very nice Italian Cuisines in Key West worthy of your dining dollar.

we hadn't been back to antonia's for a few years....several ownership changes.........we and our guests have lived here for about 12 years and remember the restaurant from back then......what a disappointment...........the pesce was watery and tasteless.....the shrimp pasta smelled funny....the waitress tried hard and was very efficient.......we asked to see the manager so as to explain our issues......he never showed up.........i hope he has a day job since he doesn't seem all that comfortable managing a restaurant.........neither we nor our local friends are likely to be back all that soon.......apparently others feel the same way since the place was 2/3 empty on a friday night........shame on them......i've read the good reviews for the place and can only assume that they were having a bad night or that the other reviewers were on one of those ships where everyone got sick from some mysterious bacteria.

Been coming to Key West a long time (25 years) and Antonia's is still going strong! I never miss going here when I'm in town. Excellent consistent experience. Great wine list and ambiance. For the weekends a reservation is a must in season. I recommend the calamari to start, then split a pasta course, and then mahi mahi or the filet. A great way to spend and evening in KW. I give it $$$$ because you need to spend on a nice bottle of wine to go with this fine food.

Oh my my my my, if I lived near here, I'd eat here at least once a week. This is some of the best, or maybe THE best, Italian food I've had anywhere. From the moment we walked in, without a reservation, we were treated like royalty. The manager went out of his way to make space for us, and genuinely felt badly he could not sit us immediately. Most restaurants would just turn you away; here, they did all they could. I had an arugula salad with pears. I know this sounds very simple, but the flavors were heavenly, and the portion massive. The quality was outstanding. I had a seafood stew-like dish as my dinner, and that was amazing. The antipasto platter was some of the best charcuterie I have ever nibbled from, and the pastas, soups and other items at the table were eaten with oo's and ah's. The bread was amazing. The service remained fabulous the entire night. The restaurant itself is woodsy and gorgeous, not very Key West, but I didn't care after trying the food. Many of the foods are organic or local, a nice plus.

Great atmosphere. Service was excellent. When the bread blows you away, you know you're in for a good meal. Homemade gnocchi with pesto was some of the best I've had. Profitterioles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce was superb. Only complaint is that the beer list is not very good, but most people would likely drink wine here anyway.

We found this place on our walk about on Duval street. I liked the atmosphere and our waiter - a true Italian - was really awesome and attentive. If you ever want the best gnocchi ever made come here - of course don't count calories as the only way is gorgonzola sauce. We also got the hurricane special which gave us 3 choices of items - asparagus with truffle was perfectly cooked; fruitti di mare - SUPER yum!; and blueberry sorbetto which had little chunks of blueberry with a great refreshing flavor.

Fabulous Italian food, impeccable service. We had actually intended to eat at Opera on this particular night (per a friend's recommendation) but discovered that Opera was still closed for the season (or permanently closed, we weren't sure) and stumbled upon Antonia's nearby. Boy, we sure are glad we did! It was the last night of their seasonal "Hurricane Prix Fixe Menu" (it ends right before Fantasy Fest starts, I think) which basically lets you choose from 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert each for $30. A steal, in my opinion, because otherwise, Antonia's is on the pricey side. However, they live up to it, because everything is fabulous, I won't go into details about everything we ate, but will say that it was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Another reason that our meal was so wonderful was that the service was top-notch. Our waiter had great timing, and was very gracious and attentive, but not in a way that drives you crazy. Romantic atmosphere. Right on Duval, but sort of a calm oasis you can escape into from of all of the craziness outside.

I promised the server that I would write a good review but I just got lazy. In summary, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in Key West looking for a great Italian restaurant with friendly staff. The food there tastes so good that we actually decided to have both lunch and dinner in the same restaurant, on the same day. I'll explain why. The restaurant's "specials of the day" are a must-try. I think we ordered everything that was on the specials menu, and everything was incredible. The lobster eggs Benedict was as good as the combination ever goes: it was rich enough to make the diner happy, but not so rich that it would ruin your appetite for other dishes. We also had a black snapper carefully seared to perfection. Note that I almost always hate seared fish dishes in the US because they are almost always overcooked: the fish becomes chewy and tasteless. NOT HERE. Here, they do the fish right (hate to steal that line from KFC publicity but that's exactly how passionate I felt about that snapper dish). The fat in the fish was cooked just enough to slightly overflow (but not evaporate entirely), and it tasted heavenly. Note that for the same entree, the restaurant often offers the option between a salad dish and a bread dish: do try both, as we loved both. I must mention that the bakery team at Antonia was gifted: their bread basket (served hot) was so good that we finished them all and asked for more. Equally impressed were we by the house-made olive oil, with spices such as poppy seeds, sage, and a bit of anise seed added. If I had more space in my luggage, I would've bought a bottle of that from them - that's how good it was. We also truly liked how the sauce/reductions are carefully chosen in each dish to better bring out the flavors of the seafood. For a seafood-centric restaurant, it is the Number 1 thing that we look for. At Antonia, the chef knows perfectly well how to make it all work. Kudos to that. The friendliness of the staff was also truly important to us: Brad helped me recover a scarf that I forgot during lunch, and chatting was quite enjoyable. When we were rushed for time (due at a diving shop before we could properly finish our lunch), the staff kindly packed our lasagne for us, and again helped us reheat it (with extra layers of cheese on top!) for dinner. Such kind service certainly made us enjoy the vacation better. Although this restaurant is a little far from the most popular parts on Duval St., it is worth every step you take away from the crowds. There's one particularly nice table by the window from which you can check out the passers-by. Do try it, and tell Brad that I said hi :)

Loved this place!!! We were searching for delicious & fresh Italian food, this was the spot! The decor is very nice, upscale for key west style ;) the staff was super friendly, our waiter looked like Ryan Gossling! Lol we ordered the calamari appetizer which was great - fresh & very flavorful marinara sauce. For entrees we opted for fettucine Alfredo with mushrooms & fettucine carbonara, both were great. Highly recommend this place if you're seeking for Italian in Key West.

Some of the best food I have had in Key West. The waiter was fantastic, our table was great, food was delicious, atmosphere was upbeat and nice. Tables are tight but didn't bother us. Great variety and selection... fresh made pasta.

Came here on a recommendation, nice quiet dinner break from all the noise and partying on rest of Duval Street. My gf and I each got homemade pasta dishes that were excellent, as good as any around here in Boston. Never expected to find such good Italian in Key West. Can't wait to come back again!

Wonderful meal here on a Saturday night. Brian was a fantastic waiter, and recommended a salad off the menu when my husband inquired on the tomatoes in the caprese salad. They made it with local heirlooms for him and he said it was excellent. Pasta and gnocchi were also fantastic, we were very pleased considering some of the other places we have dined on the island. Everything is handmade and I would recommend to anyone.

Uneven, but good. Bruschetta was very good. I ordered a Caesar salad to share with my partner; easy to do since our table was small (they all are). Staff asked us if we wanted anchovies (which is traditional, but not something everyone likes) and then brought two half salads, each one a small chilled plate. Delish. Entrees were not as good. Huge portions--only one of our party was able to eat everything. The pasta with fresh mozzarella was very good, the cheese soft, but not meted in, or gooey. Pasta with shrimp was another matter. Some of the shrimp were cold, others room temperature, only one or two hot. Staff says the dish is spicy, but it tastes as if red pepper flakes have been added in just for the sake of doing that. It does not enhance the dish. Gnocchi was fresh, but the ragu sauce was on the bland side, which was surprising. Perhaps refocus on the seasonings?

Excellent food and service. The atmosphere is beautiful, but a bit on the pricey side. When we went there we got lucky it wasn't to busy for them to seat us. They prefer you make a reservation before hand. My husband and I ordered the sea food pasta and is was very flavorful and delicious. Would eat here again on a special occasion. They are pricey.

We enjoyed our first visit so much we went back for another visit during our week vacation. The first night the waitress was a wonderful young lady who was very personable and provided us with excellent service. The bartender mixed up a wonderful pair of martinis, perfectly chilled. I really enjoyed the appetizer and I had a pasta dish that I really enjoyed. Nicely completed with dessert. Just a great meal with extremely attentive service. That was a Sunday night. We returned on Friday, and experienced another server who was just as attentive. The martinis were just as icy and refreshing, and the food was wonderful. My companion raved about the seafood. I was not as thrilled with my second pasta choice as it was heavier and spicier than I should have eaten, but I knew that going in. Two really pleasant meals in a row. You can't beat that.

One of our favorite restaurants in Key West. We make reservations almost every time we arrive. The truffle pasta dish is delicious as is basically all of their pastas. The pasta is freshly made and you can tell. Very good wine list!

Great location and ambience.

  • B And B.

ENJOY!

One of our favorite restaurants in Key West. We make reservations almost every time we arrive. The truffle pasta dish is delicious as is basically all of their pastas. The pasta is freshly made and you can tell. Very good wine list!

ENJOY!

Ambiance pleasantly sedate, we had an entertaining waiter. The escargots were tasty with a lemon tang although salty, the filet minion was excellent, the grouper somewhat overlooked, veggies good, the wine ordinary. $114 for two, without dessert or tip.

A bit on the expensive side but worthwhile. The staff made a good effort at making sure my evening went without a hiccup. This was a special occasion, and they treated me and my girlfriend feel very welcome. The wait staff is efficient and not pushy at all. I highly recommend the gnocchi and veal. Great location and ambience.

Best. Lasagna. Ever. Hubby and I were searching for a great, romantic restaurant that was NOT seafood and steak. Antonia's fit the bill perfectly! Service was excellent and food was beyond my expectations.

Amazing food, fantastic service, and a great ambiance. This is a MUST for your next Key West visit! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our dinner so much that we came back the next night! The wine list is great, and our seafood pasta dishes were AMAZING. We will be back again soon!

Great location right on Duval St. Small quaint Italian restaurant with a great selection of Italian homemade pastas. It's always a gamble when you order gnocchi but these were very good with a great bolognese sauce . Attentive service made it even more memorable.

Excellent! Seems to be a regular destination for locals! Nice setting - excellent service- food was prepared just right - somewhat unique meals - not traditional italian - pasta made to order too! Right on Duval....highly recommended...

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
